MLB: Still no Burnett trade for Orioles

Orioles fans continue to anxiously await confirmation of a trade that would bring A.J. Burnett to Baltimore, but there is still no word.

Ken Rosenthal of The Sporting News has reported that the Pirates are now in the mix, trying to make it a three team deal that would send Daryle Ward to the Orioles while Pirates pitcher Mark Redman would go to the Marlins.

The Washington Post reported that Steve Kline and Steve Reed could be included in the deal.

Burnett was scheduled to pitch for Florida tonight, and there is no word on whether or not that will happen.

Stay tuned.

this is completely unrelated, but i feel it is necessary for any sports talk to involve jokes at expense of the doofus who impersonated quarterbacks to get girls... for example, on si.com:

There's plenty of precedent for celebrity athlete dress-up. In 2000, Utah Jazz center Olden Polynice got busted for impersonating a police officer with a pituitary problem. And during his contract year, Celtics center Mark Blount impersonated a legit NBA center netting him a $42 million contract only to reveal that he was actually ... Mark Blount.

zing!
