The Orioles look to shake off a crushing come from behind defeat at the hands of the Yankees yesterday by taking the afternoon game for a split in the two game series.

The O's offense finally showed some life yesterday, scoring eight runs and coming back from an early six run defecit to take an 8-6 lead late in the game, but the pitching blew the game in the eighth inning, giving up seven runs to fall down 13-8.

Sammy Sosa was back in the lineup as the designated hitter yesterday after being benched the previous two games, and he looked more patient at the plate and drew two walks, but got no hits.

New York Mets @ Nationals
Game Time: 7:05 p.m.
Location: RFK Stadium

NYM: 41-41 (5th in NL East, 9 behind Washington)

Pitching Match-up
NYM: Pedro Martinez (9-2, 2.74 ERA) Throws Right
WAS: Esteban Loaiza (4-5, 3.81 ERA) Throws Right

The Nationals look to get back to their winning ways after having a six game winning streak snapped yesterday by the Mets.

They will have to make it happen against Mets ace Pedro Martinez, who is 9-2 overall and 7-1 since the start of May.
